A man from Ughelli, Delta state, Opipi Ajomo was murdered by his own family members after he stabbed his younger brother to death over land dispute in the Agadama community. Vanguard reports that the younger man had gone to his brother to argue over the land the oldest was farming which reportedly was gifted to him by his father. The argument degenerated and the older brother, claiming that the land rightfully belonged to him, dashed into his house and returned with a knife which he used to stab his brother in the neck.
The younger Ajomo bled to death, and in anger, the family members jumped on Opipi and murdered him too with a knife. Vanguard adds that the two brothers were buried on the same day.
When press men contacted the police for comment, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Celestina Kalu, did not comment on the double homicide, or confirm that the case was being investigated.
