25-year-old Juliana Adeyemo was allegedly killed by a yet-to-be identified Nigerian soldier who carried out the attack in the presence of her two children. According to reports, the soldier is attached to the 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Owena Baracks, Akure, Ondo State. PUNCH reports that Juliana, who lived with her family in the barracks, sold recharge cards. She was ambushed in her home while her husband was away, stabbed multiple times and all the money she made for that day, and her recharge cards were stolen. Her 4-year-old son, Dayo was able to describe their mother’s murderer.
Speaking with the press, the husband of the deceased, Wale Adeyemo said that he was stopped from reporting the incidence to the police by the leadership of the barracks who said they would carry out an investigation. “I am appealing to the army authority and the government to help me arrest the killer of my wife, I don’t want the matter to be swept under the carpet,” Mr. Adeyemo said.

Confirming the incidence to the press, the Public Relations Officer of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Captain Ojo Adelegan said that the Brigade has started investigation, but denied that it was a soldier that carried out the murder-robbery“It was unfortunate that the incident happened, but I want to tell you that it was not a soldier that killed the woman, it is not possible, our soldiers cannot do such a thing, they are responsible officers, ” Adelegan said.
