Thank goodness they survived it!
A little Kenyan boy reportedly gave four top pupils in his class a powder-like substance laced with poison in his school - in a weird incident that has left local residents in shock. The four Giampampo Primary School pupils were admitted to Chuka General Hospital last week with severe stomachache and vomiting, but were on Monday discharged in stable condition after treatment. The pupils said they fell sick after licking a powder-like substance that looked like glucose powder, which had been offered by the jealous little boy.
The boy lied to the four bright students that their teacher had bought them glucose as an award for being the best in the class. “We were in class when our colleague came in with a powder which looked like glucose and claimed that he was given by our class teacher as a reward to the seven of us for performing well in examination. But when we eat it we developed stomach problem,” said one of the discharged pupils.
The teacher in question, Stephen Gitonga, said that three other pupils were lucky to have escaped unhurt. Because the boy had planned to give the powder to seven pupils. But only four consumed it at first and took ill immediately which scared the rest from consuming the powder.
Mr Gitonga warned all the pupils to avoid eating or drinking anything suspicious from colleagues without informing teachers.
