A paint manufacturer and an electrician were tragically electrocuted in Umunkashi Uwani Ugwu community in Nsukka over the weekend. The paint manufacturer identified as Samuel Ezema had reportedly employed the services of an electrician identified as Emmanuel to repair his faulty factory water pumping machine. It was gathered that the electrician entered the well at the paint factory to carry out the repairs and when Ezema had tried connecting the pumping machine to test it, he had unknowingly held a naked wire. He was immediately electrocuted and fell on the electrician, who was coming out of the well at the time.
According to reports, they both went down the well and died. Police spokesman for Enugu State Police Command, DSP Ebere Amaraizu confirmed the incident. He stated that a full-scale investigation had commenced on the tragic death of the two men. Their bodies have been deposited at Faith Foundation Hospital, Nsukka for autopsy.
