A pregnant teenage girl stabbed her boyfriend to death on Tuesday evening after he posted a photo of another woman on his Facebook wall. According to the police, the 19-year-old used a kitchen knife to kill Kelvin Ikatwa, 25, at 3.30pm, moments after he arrived at her house in Kangemi, Kenya. Kelvin, popularly known as Razor, and a third-year University of Nairobi student died of stab wounds. Nairobi Police chief, Japheth Koome was told by the landlord of the flat that Kelvin and the teenage girl had a fight which later led to the death of the man. He told police that the man died in the pool of blood at the doorstep.
“When the officers arrived at the scene, the man was already dead and the woman was sitting next to the body. He had been stabbed in the neck. The knife was found at the scene,” Mr Koome said.
Trouble started when Kelvin, a player with Wazito FC, posted picture of a different woman on his Facebook wall at 10.30am. “We had no idea a woman by that name existed and that she was pregnant. What we know is that the picture Kelvin posted belongs to one of his friends. He was not dating her. “We chatted at 2pm. He said we would meet the next day as he was going to see his girlfriend. Then he went offline.” said a friend who requested anonymity.
It is believed the pregnant teen stabbed him thinking he was dating the woman he posted her picture on his wall. That led to a fight and later the stabbing and death of Kelvin.
Mr. Koome revealed that the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Chiromo Mortuary. The woman would be arraigned for murder on Friday.
