A man allegedly killed a woman as they made love - then continued to have sex with her dead body. Timothy Johnson, 25, was arrested after the decomposing body of Judith Therianos was found in woods in Tampa, Florida, earlier this month. The 52-year-old, from Maine, died from blunt force trauma, police said. Sheriff Chris Nocco told reporters Johnson allegedly killed Therianos while the two were having sex. Investigators say they believe at some point she wanted him to stop and that is when he allegedly killed her. He then continued to have sex with her corpse "for a while", the officer said. Police are trying to piece together a motive in what appears to be a baffling case.
Therianos arrived in Tampa with a friend on February 15 to visit pals. Police said during the trip, she became separate from her best friend and had not been seen since March 14. On April 7, deputies found a decomposing body in the wooded area near 6659 U.S. 19. Fingerprint analysis determined it was missing Therianos. Two days later, Johnson was arrested for her murder.
There was no previous relationship between Therianos and Johnson other than a video of the pair buying alcohol at a store on March 13. It appears that is where they met, investigators told local TV news station WTSP.
Johnson is now charged with premeditated murder and remains in the Land O' Lakes Detention Center. Detectives say due to the disturbing circumstances in this case they are worried he may be involved in other crimes, and are looking at all missing person cases and all death cases that have not been solved. "This is a pretty sick individual that would perform these acts on a deceased person," Nocco said.
