A couple who posed naked on the streets of the tourist town of Dali in southwest China have been detained after they shared their photos online. The unidentified couple who were vacationing in Dali stripped bare and posed naked for photos on the streets of the city known for its picturesque scenery and they also posted it online.
The photos reportedly published by Weibo user @Bianbianshigeyehaizi went viral on Wednesday, May 25 and not everyone was amused by the sight. The Weibo user later deleted the controversial photos following a flood of criticisms and disapprovals.
Dali Police said the couple’s behavior was deemed as “illegal,” and they will be detained for more than 10 days in accordance with China’s law that stipulates detention of 10 to 15 days and fines for producing or spreading pornographic materials via the Internet.
