Germany coach, Joachim Low has apologised for that embarrassing video that was published of him putting his hand down his trousers and then sniffing it live on television. Read HERE if you missed the previous story. The World Cup-winning boss suffered the shocking moment during his team's opening game of the Euros against Ukraine in Lille. Low was spotted on camera sticking his hand down the front and back of his trousers before putting it up to his face to smell. Eww! The video quickly went viral and Low had no option but to issue an apology.
He said: "I saw the pictures as well and obviously sometimes you do things subconsciously. It happened and I am sorry. It was adrenaline and concentration. I will try to behave differently in the future."
But Germany squad member and former Arsenal striker, Lukas Podolski made light of the incident when asked about it by journalists at a press conference. “I believe 80 per cent of you, and me as well, sometimes scratch your nuts from time to time. So everything is fine. It is not an issue in the team,” Podolski said with a laugh.
