Ghana Government To Remove Pockets From Police Uniforms As Part Of Corruption War

As part of President Akufo Addo’s fight against corruption in Ghana, a new set of Police Uniforms which would be issued from August 2017 will have no pockets. Ghana Police proudly resides on the Ghanaian ladder of corruption as the most corrupt – beating the global leaders, politicians, according to reports.

This new proposal, if implemented, would leave a lot of Ghanaian police officers who take bribes from roadside a little worried as to where they would hide the monies they take.

But report has it that the Police Command in Ghana has said it will resist any attempt to make their uniforms pocketless, as these pockets serve an important purpose as it beautifies their total appearance.

Many Ghanaians have however taken to the social media to ridicule the government moves, suggesting many ways that Police could obtain and hide illegal money taken from members of the public in the absence of any pocket on their uniforms.
