How A Prince Was Murdered In His Hotel In Ekiti State

An Ekiti prince has been murdered by unknown gunmen in a hotel. The pince Dare Ogunbiyi, was reportedly attacked at Olainukan Hotel located on Irele-Ekiti Road, Oke-Ako. The hotel is owned by the deceased who is the son of the late king Oba Omotayo Ogunbiyi.

An eyewitness, who gave his name as Dayo, recounted the sad incident saying the men caught the prince unawares. The deceased was having a chat with one of his employees.

“The two men wore masks. When he (Ogunbiyi) saw the gunmen, he tried to run away but the assailants pursued him and shot him dead. The assailants later escaped into the bush.”

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in Ekiti, Alberto Adeyemi, said he had been informed of the attack but was awaiting briefing from the divisional police officer.
