I'm Ready To Dine With The Devil - New Lagos Police Commissioner Fires Warning To Criminals

Gov. Ambode and the Police boss
Speaking while he paid a visit to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Monday,  the new commissioner of police in Lagos state, Edgal Imohinmi, said he is ready to dine with the devil for peace to reign in the state.
According to TheCable News, the Police boss assured the governor that under his watch, there would be no cause for complaints, and promised that his officers would serve the people with all their hearts and might.
He sent a warning to criminals in the state that it would no longer be business as usual. “Let me use this opportunity to warn criminals that it will not be business as usual,” he said.
“I also want to use the opportunity to warn my officers that the issue of human rights’ abuses, corruption and indiscipline in general will no longer be tolerated.

“I told my officers that my passion for this assignment is that if I have to dine with the devil with a long spoon to ensure that Lagosians live in peace, I will not hesitate to do so.”
Ambode said his administration would continue to ensure that the state’s judicial system partners the police force to guarantee safety and prosperity of citizens of the state.
“We cannot but afford not to have a vibrant police force in the state, we will support community policing and ensure every community is properly policed. We are emphatic on law and order,” he said.
He described Imohinmi as one who understands the security architecture of the state and promised that he would extend the same hand of fellowship he did to Fatai Owoseni, outgoing commissioner of police.
Owoseni, who has been redeployed to the force criminal investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja, thanked the governor for his support for security agencies in the state and the sustenance of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund.
